Your introduction
Previous lesson marked complete on this site. Canvas submissions are separate.
Mark where you are starting. Then write your introduction in Markdown.
Two files in your week-0 folder hold this lesson's work. Steps 4 and 5 of your README walk you through both. Markdown Tutorial and Markdown practice in your README come first in this route. If you already wrote your introduction, keep it; open its GitHub Preview and check what you wrote.
You can work on README Steps 4 and 5 while your Student Developer Pack application, CodePen setup, or another nonessential account step is still underway. You do need access to your private GitHub repository to edit these files. Return to the setup checklist later for unfinished account steps.
Mark where you are starting
Open week-0/where-i-am-starting.md in your repository. Tick one box under each heading. Then write one line about what you hope to make by the end of the quarter. No one grades this file. It does not measure your ability. You answer it again at the end of the quarter.
Write your introduction
Open week-0/introduction.md. Write a few sentences under each of its four headings:
- What do you think a designer is?
- What do you think a coder is?
- What do you want to make?
- What do you think intelligence is?
Plain words are fine. Preview each file and commit it when you finish. The starting mark is a personal baseline, not an ability score.
After both files are saved, follow the cleanup step in your own README. Remove only the setup-instruction block and confirm that your ## Markdown practice section remains. Then submit your repository link for WORKSHOP: Your workspace in Canvas. You can submit as soon as the files and cleanup are ready; check that Canvas assignment for its due date.
On Monday, September 28, the same words become HTML headings and paragraphs. You will not add an explanation or reflection.
